Angus medical services is always looking towards the future, we hope to be able to expand and spread our support across the whole of Scotland.
In the future, we are looking to provide:
Medical Emergency Response Units
It will be the primary task of these units to patrol around a city between the hours of 6pm and 6am supporting door supervisors and general members of the public with any first aid assistance they might require.
The units will consist primarily of a driver and a first responder for the purposes of making early assessment of casualties to help determine whether or not an ambulance is necessary. It is our hope that this service will reduce the number of alcohol and drug influenced accidents the Scottish Ambulance Service get called to.
Welfare Stand
We are also looking to provide a Welfare Stand which will be placed in a central location and staffed by volunteers handing out “Welfare Packages” for night time revelers.
The Welfare packages will contain things such as bottle water, slippers/pumps to replace those heels, an assortment of leaflets giving advice from a variety of other registered organisations, anti-spiking lids and straws and condoms. The aim is to try and reduce the number of spiking incidents, promote safe sex, promote good health and wellbeing and promote good mental health.
Transport Unit
Along with our Medical Emergency Response Units we hope that in the future we will be able to provide a transport unit that will be able to transport casualties to hospital if it is safe to do so.
The transport unit will work alongside the Medical Emergency Response Units to provide a source of transport, again to reduce demand on the Scottish Ambulance Service and or to provide a point of refuge from the weather or crowds until an ambulance arrives.
Welfare Block
Our ultimate future goal is to be able to provide a Welfare Block in which persons too intoxicated to look after themselves but do not require hospital treatment and would rather stay out of a police cell can be looked after by our trained staff. Each individual will be provided with night clothes and a room in which they will be regularly checked upon by our trained staff. In the morning any visitors to our establishment will be able to freshen up in our on-suite bathrooms in their rooms and get breakfast from our kitchen
